Coffee Table Makeover

Hey, friends!

For the last decade I’ve had nothing but the Ikea Lack coffee table adorning the middle of my living rooms. I’ll eventually make it to my “grown-up” couch and love seat, too, but for now my coffee table game has needed a major update.

I am a serial craigslist-er and like most of my shopping tendencies, I prefer to find a good deal! With craigslist, it’s so easy to find the exact furniture I’m looking for and in excellent condition. Sometimes when I’m browsing online, I use craigslist to cross reference products from the websites I usually visit.

I’ve been looking for something similar to this inspiration pic here…

It took me just the weekend to sand, prime, paint, and stain both the coffee table and the side table. And I love, LOVE how they turned out!

(excuse my mess in the background, the house is still very much a work-in-progress!)

This was my first time staining anything, I wish I could’ve sanded it much better. I’ve since added a sheet sander to my amazon wishlist. But it’s all a learning experience and for the most part, I am very pleased. 🙂

Here are the supplies I used to get the job done:
